Responsibilities: The Applications Programmer Analyst works in a team environment involving staff from Information Technology Services and the administrative units of the College. He/she will provide analysis, programming, and application support services for the campus information system. This position will receive direct supervision from the Assistant Director of Information Technology Services.Key functions of this position include analyzing, designing, coding, and documenting solutions for conversions, forms, interfaces, reports and other information systems features. The Applications Programmer Analyst consults with system users, conducts business process analysis, and provides training. He/she will participate in testing and implementation of programs, utilities, and procedures. This position requires skills with a relational database management system, computer programming language(s), and administrative business practices.
Qualifications: Candidate must have in-dept knowledge of at least one computer programming language and a relational database. Equally important is the ability and desire to analyze a problem and devise a solution. Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, SQL Server Management Studio, and SQL Server Reporting Services is preferred. Experience with a development environment such as the Eclipse Platform is preferred. Experience with UniData, UniBasic, and Envision is a plus. This is a very people-oriented position and requires highly developed communication skills.
This
position requires a bachelor's degree. An advanced degree is
preferred. Recent graduates will be asked to provide an academic
transcript.
