Systems Analyst - Finance and Administration

Union College is seeking a qualified individual to be the project manager for implementation and support of the financial enterprise and related computer systems for departments within Finance and Administration. This position also acts as liaison with Information Technology Services (ITS) and assists with setup, implementation, training and documentation for the campus community.
Responsibilities include acting as the key liaison to the campus community regarding the implementation and use of the Finance and Administration computer systems; analyzing and assessing the needs of the College and determining how best to use available systems; providing technical support; prioritizing all related system projects; creating project plans and coordinating project teams to achieve objectives; designing reports; logging and tracking support issues and system problems, and working with the ITS team and vendor to resolve issues; assisting in the redesign of processes so that the operations are efficient and maximize system usage; rolling-out system components to campus departments; assisting in the front-line support of financial software and interfaces with internal and external systems; providing user access; performing acceptance testing of software rollouts and updates in test and production environments; maintaining web sites for the Finance and Administration departments; and developing and maintaining workflows.
Qualifications include: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field and 5 years of related work experience, previous successful experience in the development and implementation of financial and administrative systems, and proven experience with project management including establishing project plans, timelines, responsibility assignment and status tracking; knowledge in relational database systems (SQL), including experience in data design and report creation. Candidates with previous Sunguard public sector products (i.e. IFAS) or other Financial and HR systems preferred. Candidates should also possess excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills; attention to detail, flexibility and enthusiasm; experience or knowledge in financial and administrative operations and how they relate to supporting technology; proficiency in Windows desktop environment and MS Office productivity suite.
