The Office of Library, Information and Technology Services (LITS) at Mount Holyoke College seeks an energetic, experienced, and self-motivated individual to fill the position of Systems Programmer. This position will be part of a team that provides a number of technical support services to the College. Primary responsibility will be in the development and enhancement of web applications and content in support of various College systems. This position requires a strong interest in learning and supporting new and varied technologies, the ability to work with both off-the-shelf and internally developed applications, excellent verbal and written communication skills, documentation skills, a high sense of self-motivation, initiative, organization, follow-through, and the ability to work in a dynamic team environment.

Minimum applicant requirements: 1) Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience; 2) Experience with Web application development on various server platforms utilizing Web Standards and CGI; 3) Database programming experience. Knowledge of PERL, JAVA, Apache, and Tomcat is required. Knowledge of PHP, Ruby, .NET and related technologies is desirable. UNIX and Oracle database experience is a plus. This is an end-dated position for a period of three years.
